Whether you're preparing for investor due diligence, trying to close an enterprise client, or simply looking to reduce regulatory risk, compliance can quickly become a business bottleneck.
It shouldn't.
SenecAI provides end-to-end compliance support tailored to your regulatory exposure, from strategy and initial audits to risk assessments, gap remediation, implementation and ongoing monitoring.
What founders say about working with us.
“Before launching WebHunt.io we needed a data-protection opinion we could actually build on. SenecAI delivered it in days: precise, honest about the limits, and written for founders, not for lawyers. We shipped with confidence and we still follow that memo.”
“I highly recommend SenecAI Compliance. As a fellow founder, working with them on our AI Act compliance strategy was seamless. They guided us step by step, offered full support, great resources and helped us draft a comprehensive AI governance policy that we feature on our website.”
“As builders, we move fast and often overlook the compliance implications of what we ship. It's great to have Matei Ștefan and his SenecAI team in our community helping make those conversations more accessible, practical, and founder-friendly.”
“We worked with SenecAI on our GDPR documentation and T&C. I expected a long, expensive process, but it was faster than anticipated, with clear pricing upfront and the option to pay in two instalments. SenecAI also answered my follow-up questions after the project ended, patiently explaining why some privacy clauses that US platforms skip are necessary for a business operating in Europe, at no extra cost. Highly recommended.”
We do a deep dive into your business, products and operations to understand your regulatory exposure.
We analyze your compliance readiness against the applicable regulatory frameworks and conduct a gap analysis.
We do the compliance work: documentation, compliant architecture, security controls and more.
We ensure your compliance stays up to date as your business, technology and the regulatory landscape evolve.
Most companies don't have a clear picture of every AI system they've built, bought, or quietly embedded through a vendor. We help you build and maintain a living inventory of these systems, so you always know what you're running, who's responsible for it, and what regulatory role and risk level it carries — the essential first step before anything else can be assessed.
Every organization is different. We tailor our engagements to your objectives, internal capabilities and budget.
SenecAI is a compliance partner for startups and SMEs. We bring legal, technical and cybersecurity expertise together in one team, so you can understand which rules apply to your business, close the gaps, and stay compliant as you grow.
Mostly startups and SMEs building or using AI — from early-stage teams preparing for investor due diligence to scale-ups closing their first enterprise clients. If digital regulation affects how you build, sell or operate, we can help.
Most firms give you either a legal opinion or a technical implementation, and leave you to connect the two. Our lawyers, engineers and security specialists work as one team, so the legal analysis turns directly into documentation, architecture and controls you can actually run. We write for founders, not for other lawyers.
SenecAI is led by Matei Ștefan (Founder & Legal Consultant), together with Vlad Tudor (AI/ML Lead), Marius Petcu (Cybersecurity Advisor) and Dimitris Petikas (Business Developer), supported by a network of partners across AI, cybersecurity and applied research.
No. We work with companies wherever they are headquartered. What matters is whether you offer products or services in the EU market, not where your office is.
We work in English and Romanian.
Every engagement follows the same four steps:
Three models, matched to what you need:
It depends on your scope and the engagement model. Check & Strategy is billed only for the hours you use; projects are quoted as a fixed price before any work starts; retainers are a predictable monthly fee. After a free intro call, we send you a clear proposal — no surprises.
A focused question can be answered in days. A gap assessment or a full compliance project typically takes a few weeks to a few months, depending on scope and how quickly we can access the information we need. If you have a hard deadline — a funding round, an enterprise deal, an audit — tell us early and we'll plan milestones around it.
As little as possible. We do the heavy lifting. We'll need access to the right people and documents, mostly during Discover and Assess; after that, most of the work sits with us, with regular check-ins and reviews.
Yes. This is one of the most common reasons founders come to us. We can prioritise what investors or procurement teams will actually ask for — due diligence answers, security questionnaires, policies and evidence — and then handle the longer-term work at a sensible pace.
Absolutely. We can lead end to end, or plug in to support your in-house team, external counsel or DPO where they need extra expertise.
Yes. The policies, documentation, inventories and assessments we produce for you are yours to use in your business.
Yes. Everything you share with us is treated as confidential, and we're happy to sign an NDA before any detailed discussion.
No one can honestly guarantee a regulator's or auditor's decision. What we guarantee is rigorous work, a clear view of your residual risks, and documentation that holds up to scrutiny. Where a formal certification is needed (e.g. ISO 27001), we prepare you for the audit, which is carried out by an accredited certification body.

Yes, it's free, and there's no obligation. It's a chance for both sides to see whether we're a good fit.
Nothing formal. A short description of what you build, who your customers are, and what prompted you to reach out — an investor question, a client request, a deadline — is plenty.
